They Are A Truly Unique Culture:
Quebecers represent a culture that is as vibrant as it is unique. This distinctiveness is revealed through the Province’s own language, traditions, music, movies, books, TV programs and much more. Therefore, in order to properly reach the people of Quebec, you must recognize and celebrate their differences.
Suggestion: Use a well-known Quebec face when appropriate.
They Are More European Than American:
The people of Quebec have a love of good food and wine and seek out these pleasures whenever possible. They love to cook, try new foods, visit locally owned restaurants and buy a lot of local foods from markets, not corporate chains.
Suggestion: Show an enjoyment of the finer things in life.
But—They’re Not France
Quebecers dislike being confused with the French or being called French, as they are a different culture altogether. With different accents, a different language and expressions, Quebecers are unique to the World and wish to be treated as such.
Suggestion: Use Quebecois expressions and references if the opportunity arises.
They Are A Very Proud People:
Quebecers take great pride in all facets of their unique culture including their roots, their language, Quebecois celebrities, their eye for fashion and the Province’s ethnic identity.
Suggestion: Ensure ads are not “passe-partout”, but speak directly to the Quebec population.
